Doctor Donates Treatments to Help People Quit Smoking

Dr. Dustan Mattingly, DC

November 15th is the Great American Smokeout – the day the American Cancer Society has set aside to encourage Americans to quit smoking, at least for one day.   Dr. Dusty Mattingly, D.C., a St. Louis chiropractor with an office in Shrewsbury, has found a way to contribute to the event:

“I decided that I would donate my time and the time of all of my staff for one full day to help others quit smoking.  We all know that even one day without a cigarette can be very stressful for smokers – and with good reason.  Nicotine is extremely addictive and its withdrawals are difficult to handle.”

All day on November 15th, Dr. Mattingly, D.C. will be delivering Auricular Therapy to anyone who sets an appointment to receive it – completely free.  The average cost of this service is $100.

“Auricular Therapy is an FDA-approved treatment for quitting smoking that definitely reduces the affects of withdrawal.  It is painless and unlike replacement therapies such as the patch and gum, doesn’t continue the addiction to nicotine.  It makes quitting tolerable.”

“We all know people whose health has suffered terribly because of the damaging affects of cigarettes.  My hope is to take this day and make it a celebration of health.  Auricular Therapy has a very high success rate – up to 80% of the people who receive it quit smoking, many times with just one treatment.  I would love it if we can get 40 people to quit smoking permanently on November 15th – wouldn’t that be awesome?”

Dr. Mattingly, D.C. encourages anyone who is interested in receiving free Auricular Therapy to call his office and set the appointment well in advance. He expects the day to fill up quickly.  His office may be reached by calling (314) 963-9050.
