How to Relieve Your Vertigo Without Surgery or Drugs

Today I will be sharing some information with you in regards to vertigo.

Causes of Vertigo

Vertigo can be due to a pinched nerve, which is basically a vertebra out of alignment pinching in the nerve. It can also be due to low adrenal gland function. The adrenals are endocrine glands that produce adrenaline and some other hormones. When those are not functioning properly, it can cause dizziness problems, or vertigo.

Low blood sugar can cause vertigo. So can low blood pressure, which can actually be related to low adrenal function. These two can have some relation there. Ear infections, of course, an inflammation in the ear canal and all the bones and vessels that are around the ear can cause vertigo. Then lastly, head and neck injuries—now, head and neck injuries can cause pinched nerves or misaligned vertebrae. So these can be related here:  head and neck injuries, pinched nerves, and misaligned vertebrae.

Now, this certainly is not an entirety of the list of things that might cause vertigo and dizziness, but it certainly is some of the major items that can cause it.

What Can You Do to Treat Vertigo?

Chiropractic care, with the adjustments, and the pressure points, can most certainly help with the pinched nerves because when the vertebrae get out of alignment, it can create problems with the nerve, right?

So if we’re looking at the spine, we want to look in the upper area at the alignment of the occiput, which is the back of the head or skull, and the C1, C2, C3 vertebrae (directly beneath your skull), as these can pinch the nerves and irritate the nerves that go into the ear. So, it’s important to have a good evaluation of this.

Now, also problems with the alignment of the TMJ, the temporomandibular joint (where your lower jaw connects), can cause some problems with the ear and actually can cause some dizziness here. So jaw alignment, upper neck alignment, you really want to take a look at those areas.

Also, in looking at this adrenal support, the adrenal glands sometimes need to be supported with a good nutritional program, which will increase or better the adrenal function. This in turn can help with blood pressure, and so on and so forth.

Let Us Help Relieve Your Vertigo Symptoms

If you’ve got some dizziness and vertigo, it’s important to get your problem evaluated by a chiropractor because we’re the only ones that can really do adjustments. I do a lot of pressure point therapy. When the vertebrae get out of alignment in the neck, it creates these stress points or pressure points in the neck.

When these stress points and pressure points build up, it creates a lot of tension, it decreases your mobility, it decreases the function of the nerve, and it just decreases your overall well-being. So, if you’ve got some problems with vertigo, dizziness, or neck pain, give us a call here at Mattingly Chiropractic.

We’ll have you come in, and I’ll do a complementary pressure point therapy treatment, wherein I apply thumb or finger pressure to that upper neck, and actually down through the neck and the upper back, and out the trapezius. We can really see what’s going on with your back and really evaluate which vertebrae are actually contributory to, or actually causing, vertigo.

Please give our office a call at (314) 635-1008. We look forward to helping you feel better again with chiropractic adjustments and pressure point therapy.
