Supplements to Take for Wrist Pain

Let’s talk about chiropractic care and your wrist. When dealing with wrist problems, we’re primarily dealing with people that have a pinched nerve. Usually the pinched nerve is either the median nerve in cases of carpal tunnel, or the ulnar nerve in cases of cubital tunnel, which occurs in the elbow area.

One or both of these nerves being pinched can cause:

  • Pain
  • Tingling
  • Numbness
  • Loss of grip strength
  • Waking up at night with numbness
  • Inability to hold items in the hand

Treatment includes doing chiropractic adjustments in the neck, working on the shoulder, treating pressure points in the forearm and the arm itself, and then working on adjustments of the wrist. Yes, I can adjust the wrist.

So complete treatment includes working on the neck, shoulder and arm as a whole unit. This method of addressing either carpal tunnel syndrome or cubital tunnel syndrome and the nerves that get involved—the median nerve or the ulnar nerve—can really help a person restore normal function to the wrist and hand.

Nutritional Supplements to the Rescue

As part of wrist pain treatment, I will recommend vitamins and herbs that can help. Anti-inflammatory supplements are very important to help calm these nerves down, such as:

  • Vitamin B complex
  • Vitamin B6
  • Vitamin B12
  • Fish oil
  • Boswellia
  • Turmeric
  • Calm, a calcium and magnesium formula

All these help ease inflammation and calm down irritated nerves.

Finding the Right Solution

Using nutrition to help with carpal tunnel syndrome or nerve entrapment can help improve a person’s condition much better than taking prescription or over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs.

If you know somebody that has some problems with their wrist and hand, please let them know about this solution. Maybe they have a pinched nerve in their wrist and hand or they’re waking up at night with numbness and tingling in the wrist and hand. Maybe they can’t hold things very well and their grip strength is reduced. Here, too, they’ve probably got a pinched nerve.

I encourage the use of vitamins and herbs in this situation. Also, the quality of those vitamins is very important. It’s best to buy your vitamins and herbs from a reputable practitioner who offers professional-grade products.

If you know anybody with some wrist and hand problems, please tell them about these solutions. Have them contact my office so we can help. If you have any questions, give us a call at (314) 310-6454.
