Weight Loss Without a Diet
Rest assured, if you are on the hunt for a way to lose weight, you are not alone. 70% of the US population is either overweight or obese. That’s certainly a large enough percentage to take notice, isn’t it?
Diets and dieting are big business. 40 billion dollars is spent annually on diet products, and there is certainly an ever-growing market for these items. But – here’s the kicker – they don’t work. Diet plans based on inhibiting food consumption don’t work. According to a study by the New England Journal of Medicine, most of the people who participate in weight loss programs “regain about ⅓ of the weight lost during the next year and are typically back to baseline in three to five years.”
I propose an alternative to the typical diet plan.
First, let’s remember the definition of diet. A diet is the food that is eaten by an organism to gain the nourishment needed to function and to be healthy. A diet, therefore, is not about what cannot be eaten, but rather, what should be eaten.
Weight loss, then, is not a function of will power. Are you surprised? Let me say it again – the ability to lose weight has nothing to do with will power. Anyone can lose weight with application of proper nutrition.
Second, while we can say that as a race, we probably have similar dietary requirements, let’s acknowledge that each of us has unique specific circumstances. The very nutrient that might satisfy my cravings for sweet stuff might not be at all what you need. So – rather than a “one size fits all” approach, let’s acknowledge that it would be better to individually assess our nutritional needs to determine our correct diet (the things we must eat to regain health and to function properly.)
As a Chiropractor, I can help you put these pieces together into a program of healthy eating. As a result, you will lose weight.
Further, I have tools that can help you address food cravings and hunger. Weight loss auricular therapy is a very effective means to reduce food cravings. I also have several supplements available to assist you, and further, I can inspect and discover nutritional deficiencies that, unless addressed, will make losing weight difficult.
